Samsung Clock is a preinstalled app available on all Galaxy devices. The app has an alarm clock, a stopwatch and gives you the day and date if you tap the widget or open the app. A world clock gives you the current time in major cities around the world as well as the weather in those cities, and a countdown timer is also included.
Samsung has released an update to Samsung Clock. The new version of the app is on 12.1.05.15 and the update weighs 25.53MB. According to the list of changes, the update will allow users to skip only one snooze alarm. In the list of changes, Sammy writes “If you press the [Restart] When snooze alarm is off, the alarm will only be ignored once and then restarted automatically. “
The Clock app will now provide the clock function for Bixby routines (Android 12 or higher). The latter uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to determine when you want certain features of your phone to appear based on time of day, user’s location, and more. For example, if you fall asleep at night without having the phone in the charger, the device will automatically close unnecessary apps and functions to conserve battery life.
With the update, users can turn the alarm feature on or off, or start the timer or smartwatch using Bixby routines. Select the gradually increase volume option in the alarm tones menu and the alarm volume will gradually increase over time. The update also adds controls allowing users to snooze at a custom interval between 1 minute and 60 minutes.
Samsung Clock app update adds Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to world clock and dual clock widget. This time zone is used by the Canary Islands, most of Portugal and the western part of Ireland.
Additionally, day / night background colors will be used on both dual clock and digital clock widget. If the time in a specific country is night, the background of that clock will be black. If it is daylight, the background will be white. In the widget settings, select Day and night color and the background colors will change according to the time.
If the Galaxy phone you are using is running Android 12, select to display the time in analog (as opposed to digital) and a second hand will become visible in the analog clock widget. Another change moves the timer cancel button to the left. The same change is made to the stopwatch cancel button.
Finally, users can change the position of the buttons on the notification screen from the external screen. In other words, the alarm / timer on the external display indicates that the position of the buttons on the display has been changed.
To see if you’ve received the update, open the Play Store and tap your profile picture or your first initial in the top right corner. From there, navigate to Manage apps & device> Available updates. Tap Update on the Clock app or Update All to start all possible app upgrades available for your phone.
