Ponte Vedra Library hosting a free conference on gladiatorial games

Tuesday October 19: Dr Paul Wayne Brazis, professor emeritus of neurology at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and consultant in neurology and neuro-ophthalmology for the Mayo Clinic, will give a free lecture at 6 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra library. His speech, “Death in the Arena: Gladiatorial Games of Ancient Rome,” is part of a monthly series sponsored by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra branch library. Everyone is welcome, but seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Wednesday October 20: The Friends of the South-East Library book sale runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Wednesday, October 20 to Saturday, October 23. All proceeds will go to the Friends of the South East branch library.

Friday October 22: The Anastasia Library will be hosting a craft time for toddlers and preschoolers at 11 a.m. in the reception hall of the Anastasia Library. Children are encouraged to learn scissors, glue and coloring techniques. The material is provided by the Friends of the Library.

9:30 am-11:30am: Publix in downtown Nocatee, 120 Marketside Ave.

1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m .: Publix at Palencia Commons, 7462 US 1 N.


11 a.m. to noon: Coquina Crossing, 4536 Coquina Crossing Drive, Elkton


9:30 am-11:30am: Publix at SR 210 West

1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m .: Publix in Murabella, 84 Chemin de Toscane
