5. Then give a suitable name to the app, then tap Do in the lower right corner of the screen.

  • Press on icon located to the left of your app name, then choose the color for your app icon.

  • After selecting the desired icon, press Do in the upper right corner of the screen.

  • Press the menu icon located in the upper right corner of the screen, then choose Add to home screen.

  • Now press the default app icon and select Choose photo.
  • It’s important to note that if the image is in the Files app, tap Choose file then select the image. And if you want to capture an image, tap To take a picture.
  • Following, select an image from the photo library. After that, adjust picture and press To choose in the lower right corner of the screen.

  • Your image will now be set as the icon for your iPhone app. Finally, hit To add in the upper right corner of the screen to finish.

To note:

  • Although this hack works quite reliably, it will trigger the Shortcuts app first before launching the app.
  • If you want to open the app without calling the Shortcuts app, turn off shortcut notifications. To do this, go to Settings app -> Screen time -> See all activities -> Notifications -> Shortcuts. Now turn off the toggle next to Allow notifications.
